John O’Shea
O’Shea made his debut for Manchester united in 1999 in a tie against Aston Villa. He later on enjoyed spells on loan at Royal Antwerp and Bournemouth before cementing his place in the Manchester united squad during the 2002 – 2003 season. The player made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in August 2001 against Croatia. O’Shea won the 2003 league title and 2004 FA Cup with Manchester united.
Robbie Keane
Keane made his domestic football debut with Wolves in 1997, making over 100 appearances for the club before moving to Coventry City in 1999 for £6 million. He later on played for Inter Milan and Leeds United and moved to White Hart lane in 2003. He made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in March 1998 against the Czech Republic. Keane is now the nations top goal scorer, scoring 26 goals for the Irish. He scored three goals for the Republic of Ireland during the 2002 world cup finals.
Clinton Morrison
Morrison made his debut for Crystal Palace in May 1998 and spent five years at the club, leaving in 2002 after making nearly 200 appearances. He later on spent three years with Birmingham City before moving back to Crystal Palace in 2005 for a second spell. Morrison made his debut for the Republic of Ireland in 2001 and was part of their squad for the 2002 world cup finals.
Richard Dunne
After spending 4 enjoyable seasons starring for Everton, Dunne moved on to play for Manchester City in the summer of 2000, moving for £3 million. During his career at the club so far he has been very reliable. He was honoured as ‘Manchester City player of the year’ at the end of the 2004-05 campaign and has been capped by the Republic of Ireland thirty times. He was named as the new skipper of Manchester City in July 2006 due to his fine team leadership qualities. |
