Liam Whelan

Whelan was one of the eight Man united players who was tragically killed in the Munich air disaster of 1958. He was a regular fixture in the Republic of Ireland national football team and made nearly 100 first team appearances for Manchester united between August 1955 and February 1958, scoring a very prolific 52 goals, averaging more that one goal every other match for the Reds.

Patsy Gallacher

Gallacher made 12 appearances for the Republic of Ireland during his time playing football. He made his debut for Ireland against England and his presence increased interest in the Irish football team. He played his domestic football in Scotland for Celtic, spending 15 years with the club between 1911 and 1926, winning many major honors with them. He made 569 appearances for the club, winning seven league titles, four Scottish cups, four Glasgow cups and 11 Glasgow charity cups with the club.
